Filmmaker Statement

I decided to make the film "Breakfast with Diana" based on the script of my husband. This is our first short film. We decided to combine the experience from our lives into a story and bring it to the screen. Many girls turn friendship into rivalry betraying each other. This happened to me too. When watching this film, an attentive viewer will unravel the tangle of secrets. Some viewers may recognize themselves in the actions of the characters. The casting took place at the end of December and it was difficult to negotiate with the actors because of the holidays. I was ready to re-cast if the actors could not be chosen. Surprisingly, the casting was productive, there were many talented actors. Yaroslava (playing Diana) and Daria (playing Nastya) impressed me with their performance and I immediately imagined them together in the frame. It was very important for me to get this experience: to plan the shooting, the budget, cast the film crew. I enjoyed every minute spent making this film.
