Filmmaker Statement

I have my own personal experiences with street harassment from being catcalled, approached and followed home. I decided to address my feelings of rage and fear into a film centered around the work being done to raise awareness about street harassment. This film explores how Sophie Sandberg successfully creates a global community which effectively brings awareness to the issue while simultaneously fostering a safe environment where victims of street harassment are heard. Street harassment is often an overlooked or easily dismissed subject matter, but in actuality is a life threatening and serious issue effecting women worldwide. Sophie is doing the hard work to create environments where everyone feels comfortable in public spaces.
