In 2021, I was spending my days working a soul sucking job and my nights working my way through the 70's horror films in the Criterion Collection. I really wanted to make something that paid homage to this decade of filmmaking and explored the modern workplace. I’m a person who struggles with anxiety, bouts of depression, loneliness and rolling thoughts that consume me at times. I wanted to create a character that felt isolated, overwhelmed and crushed by this job slowly eating away at her. I wanted her to finally be pushed to a point where she steps into her agency and stands up for herself because in so many instances in my life, I didn’t do the same for myself. I think many people will see themselves in Florence and relate to the absurd world Florence is living in. I hope our film inspires them to speak up, go after the things that make them happy and every once in a while, strip off their clothes and run into the ocean. - Cory Stonebrook, writer/ co-director
