Filmmaker Statement

We looked at what resources we already had and filled in the blanks. We knew we wanted to make a film ourselves so we just set a date. Once we had a date booked I began making the costumes and props. Both the producer and I took on multiple roles throughout all three stages of the film. I was costume, makeup, set design and director and the producer was also sound engineer, lights, composer etc. It wasn't easy but we both wanted it to come to life. I wanted to make something odd, that’s a bit unexpected and that makes people laugh. It was important to me to make a film with practical effects similar to those I enjoy seeing. I wanted to pack a lot into a small amount of time and make a film with layers. I wanted to make a film that is funny and interesting on the surface but that explores deeper themes and symbolism if you wanted to look for them.
