Filmmaker Statement

I was racking my brain for an interesting story and remembered this event that took place every year in the town I grew up in called Hot August Nights. After doing a bit of research, I found that it was still happening. I was able to connect with Gary, one of the characters in the film, and went back for the weekend to make this film with him and Dave, the other character in the film. What transpired was a story about friendship, community and a reminder to never let go of our inner youth.
