Filmmaker Statement

I am an animation artist and film maker who has worked both commercially as a storyboard artist and independently on short films, the latter of which have played in festivals worldwide and been recipients of arts grants such as the Toronto Arts Council and the NFB. I make films because I love them; film-making involves a unique language of visual storytelling that both challenges and inspires me, and being able to connect with an audience in the process is incredibly rewarding. My work explores the relationships we have with others and how those change over time, and I find inspiration in illustrated children's books, family stories, rural settings, daily interactions with people and observing little slices of life.
