Filmmaker Statement

The radicalisation of young men and boys is an enormous and ever-present threat facing our modern society and to be blunt, we are failing those boys involved. Easy access to misogynistic online forums and dangerous viewpoints being promoted across algorithms is causing them to feel they have a right over others bodies and autonomy, and is causing a spiralling mental health crisis when it comes to their own body image, and sense of self worse. Red Pill is designed to be a reflection of the thoughts these boys can find themselves in, built entirely through the words that they are seeing every day. I want the film to be an educational tool, and to help people think that intervening while we can is not just something we should do, it's something we must do.
