Resonance explores the notion that while creative work can be therapeutic and spiritually fulfilling, it can also be an abyss. This concept served as inspiration for the film, highlighting the potential consequences of becoming consumed by one's creative pursuits, hopelessly pushing the boundaries of skills and talent. Jane's obsession ultimately leads to her downfall, causing her to lose touch with reality and jeopardize her relationship with her partner, Glenda. The haunting score of Quartet No. 8 by Dmitri Shostakovich is present throughout the film, taking the audience along for the ride. The lead actor, Tatianna Marnay, wholeheartedly embraced the role. Trained at the famous Julliard School of Music, she immersed herself in the character by spending countless hours learning the piece and getting at the core of the character.
