In the spring of 2023, amidst the early pinnacle of my career in finance, I found myself grappling with overwhelming depression. It dawned on me that my perception of success rested on shaky grounds. Although I had always harbored a passion for writing, the allure of higher compensation had deterred me from investing my energy into it, equating financial gain with success. Amidst this existential crisis, a rekindled sense of vitality emerged when I was immersed in the avant-garde works of filmmakers like David Lynch and Gaspar Noe. Inspired by their unconventional storytelling, I decided to channel my emotional complexities into a short narrative film. This project would blend experimental and thriller elements, serving as a visceral exploration of my journey. The narrative delves into the deceptive allure of conventional success, challenging the audience to question preconceived notions. By weaving a tale that invites reflection on the ephemeral nature of success, the film aims to uncover the potential for self-discovery or expose the fragility of one's perceived life mission, blurring the lines between reality and delusion. In essence, this project became a transformative outlet for me, transcending the limitations of my previous understanding of success and paving the way for a more profound exploration of life's authentic purpose.
