My wife and I began working on this film after chatting with our cousin Julia about how she wanted to act in a film and how we have always wanted to create one. We had spent the last few years doing freelance video production but frankly the idea of creating a fictional narrative with no real budget and no industry connections seemed a bit outside of what we were capable of. Despite major feelings of self doubt we began work on creating something that we hoped would feel like a modern day myth that spoke to a lot of the difficult feelings we were dealing with at the time. To be honest it was both the most challenging and the most rewarding thing we have ever done creatively. Filming during 110 degree days out in the desert, trying to get our homemade props to work properly, and learning how hard it is to film something out in the wilderness with only 3-5 people around to make it all happen. But we did it! And we are incredibly proud to have created something with such a unique voice.
