Filmmaker Statement

I made this film because I was curious about how people deal with hate crimes and social injustice in their personal lives. We often see a lot about these issues on social media, but I'm interested in exploring how individuals cope when these incidents hit close to home, especially if they're not usually outspoken about it. There are also aspects of myself that I hope express through this story—the frustration of feeling punished and misunderstood as the younger sibling, making impulsive decisions while romanticizing the expectations, and spiraling into self-deprecation for issues beyond our control.
