SYNOPSIS: In the interest of protecting their children, parents John and Sarah opted to 'birdnest' when they separated five years ago. This means that they share two properties, alternating weekly between the home, or nest, where their three children live, and a nearby flat. Their youngest, Iris, is at eight years old finally preparing to move into her own bedroom but as the divorcees help their daughter settle, the stark personal challenges the family face in this altruistic living arrangement come into sharp focus.
