Filmmaker Statement

When I decided to make this film, I knew that It would be a uniquely challenging project from which I would shoulder the entirety of its production. Beginning work on Button Eyes, I did my best to experiment with unorthodox methods of animation in order to test the limits of abstract storytelling. I wanted to make sure that it would be a film that incited genuine emotion and intrigue from audience members and simultaneously help to convey a universal message of innocence and appreciation for what you have in life. Button Eyes is my first fully realized project and I couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out!
