Filmmaker Statement

Buzzkill tells the story of Adrian, an adolescent girl, whose mental and physical boundaries are tested at a high price when she tries to find her place within a band of teens. The film explores the intensity of teenage life while looking closely into gender dynamics, the subtleties of sexuality and the intense energy of peer pressure. It was filmed in Miami, Florida, the city I grew up in when I moved to the United States, and is loosely based on my teenage experiences there.
