Filmmaker Statement

This film depicts the relationship between two brothers, one of whom is autistic. It depicts both the unexpected joy and the uncomfortable uncertainty of their day to day life together. Growing up with a mentally-disabled sibling has affected much of how I see the world. Because I have spent more time around people considered non-neurotypical, I have had the privilege to see the world through the many different lenses that autistic people bring to the table. This film brings another one of those perspectives to the fore. The slogan “nothing about us without us” has long been sung by the disabled community. Finally, studios are beginning to start initiatives for authentic representation of disabled characters. This film wishes to continue that trend by faithfully representing an autistic character with an autistic actor. In Andrew Duff we have found an incredibly vibrant new acting talent who is a part of the ASD community.
