Filmmaker Statement

I made this film with the intention of demonstrating absence, and reminiscing on the feeling of being disconnected. I felt that it was important for each perspective to have their own small narrative which would be presented in a different shooting style, but when all three stories are put together deeper meanings and connections can be formed, and their is enough connective tissue between the styles that the experience still feels seamless. The story is abstract, and details of the characters are intentionally left out. The atmosphere is meant to speak for itself, and each hint to the deeper narrative guides the audience in the general direction without directly explaining what's going on. It's more important for the audience to fill in the blanks with what resonates with them. That was the balancing act with this film. An experiment on the collaboration between filmmaker and audience in telling a story.
