Filmmaker Statement

‘Filling the Gaps’ follows the story of Amber Lombardi, a dental hygienist and oral health advocate with a mission to bring care to those in need. Driven by her passion for health equity, Amber and her husband, Mike, co-founded Mainely Teeth in 2020 to bring dental care to residents across Maine. By transforming a horse trailer into a mobile dental clinic outfitted with teledentistry technology, they have improved accessibility for underserved communities across their state. Highlighting the human side of the dental health crisis, ‘Filling the Gaps’ captures the impact one organization can make while striving for systemic change.
