My film is sort of a children's story for grown ups. I like children's books because of their simple storytelling and beautiful illustrations, and a couple of books from my childhood were a big inspiration. My film begins as a typical children's story: a flower goes missing and all the forest animals go looking for it. Normally they would find the flower in a surprising way, but I decided to have them accuse the wrong person of stealing it. I thought this was an interesting way to raise questions about things like revenge, justice and the tyranny of the majority. I chose to portray the characters as animals because I wanted them to look innocent, since they really believe that they're doing the right thing.
