Ghost Gear was created as part of an artist fellowship I was awarded, which offered two months living on remote Bruny Island to make a piece of work. Bruny Island is off the southern tip of Tasmania. The Nuenonne people of the South East Nation, the first inhabitants and traditional owners of the island, call it lunawanna-allonah. It is an island, off an island, off an island. That last island being Australia. GHOST GEAR reflects on the lies we tell young people in order to protect their innocence, and explores the psychological impact of climate grief.
