Who hasn't dreamt about hitting the jackpot? My brother Keldon and I certainly have. He came to visit me in Brooklyn a few months ago and we decided that instead of going to the Statue of Liberty or grabbing a slice from Bleecker Street, we'd do what we always love doing together: make a short film. He sent me a draft script and we both agreed that Michael, an actor I'd worked with before, was perfect for the role. The three days of shooting were fast-paced, occasionally stressful (trying to get decent sound in Times Square was a challenge), but so rewarding. We wanted to make an exciting short filled visceral action, long takes that authentically captured the hum of New York City, and a self-contained story full of moral ambiguity. We hope you enjoy 'Good Fortune,' and maybe this time we'll hit the jackpot and get into Short of the Week - something we've both dreamt of.
