Filmmaker Statement

Pillow Castle is a story based on a true experience and is adapted from my short fiction. In this film, I wish to explore the "act of looking" as a child, and present the perspective through which a young child may look at their family relationships and the adult world. A children's sensitive perceptions are often overlooked by adults, and I hope to explore the subtle, nuanced and sorrowful side of a children's experience.
