Filmmaker Statement

Poor Glenna is an allegory about parents who enable their adult children's unhealthy lifestyles. On the surface, Poor Glenna is a horror film cut straight from 1970s exploitation cinema, but upon closer examination the film reveals themes of parental devotion and parasitic adult children. This is my most personal film to date and the characters are directly inspired by my own family members. All of the special effects are practical and were created through a combination of reverse photography and manipulation of frame rates.
