Filmmaker Statement

From 1971 to 2021, the railway station Prokop had 4 ceremonial marking of the beginning of construction works. It was formally opened two times. In the period of 50 years, more than 10 project solutions have been published for Prokop. None has been fully realized. In July 2018, with the closure of the Main Railway Station in the city center, Belgrade became the only capital whose railway station does not have a station building. This is not only a film about the Prokop railway station, just as the railway station itself does not have only that function; but this film tries to capture the rhythm of a living architectural organism that absorbs the elements of many epochs through which it existed, without actually ever being created. Like a black hole, this station with a symbolic name absorbs all the consequences of human action and as such, represents a perfect place for reflection of human existence.
