Empathy is fascinating because it is the super-sense we use to connect with others. However, its value is being lost in our polarized world. We have a constant barrage of media, pulling our emotions one way or the next with the scroll of our fingertips. How can we not start to tune out our feelings? How can we process the all events happening in the world? At a certain point, our brains shut off the empathetic response to protect us from these traumas. What happens when we no longer wish to turn it back on? Rubber and Glue is about how desensitization is stealing this super-sense from us. It’s about what happens when we choose to lose this vital part of our humanity. It’s about how we’re already halfway there.
