When Russia invaded Ukraine a year ago, I wanted to do something to help. I was introduced to Justyna Uschack, one of the founding members of the Houston Ukrainian Community. After interviewing her, now 95, I knew I wanted to do my thesis on her. It is a remarkable story of survival and she is a hero of mine. This was my final project at San Francisco Film School. It is currently in the research section of the Holocaust Museum of Houston.
